V is an American television series that originally aired from October 1984 to March 1985 on NBC. It follows the V franchise, created by Kenneth Johnson, about an alien invasion by a carnivorous reptilian race called the "Visitors". After the events of the mini-series V: The Final Battle, resistance member Mike Donovan captures the escaped alien leader Diana, but she is later abducted and offered a deal by Nathan Bates, CEO of Science Frontiers. Donovan and Martin work together to stop Diana, who takes over the Visitor fleet and launches a full-scale invasion of Earth. The Resistance continues to fight, aided by other rebel groups, despite the toxic effects of their only weapon, the Red Dust. Meanwhile, Elizabeth, a young alien-human hybrid, plays a crucial role in the fate of both races and the outcome of the conflict.
