Once promising young ballerinas together, DeeDee Rodgers and Emma Jacklin made very different choices. DeeDee left the stage to marry, raise a family and open a dance school in Oklahoma, while Emma remained in New York and became one of the ballet world's celebrated stars.

Years later, the two women are reunited when DeeDee's talented daughter Emilia is offered the opportunity to join Emma's prestigious ballet company. Mother and daughter travel to New York, where Emilia begins an exciting new chapter in her life—and a passionate relationship with charismatic Russian dancer Yuri.

But as Emilia's career begins to flourish, old rivalries and long-buried resentments between DeeDee and Emma return to the surface. Each woman is forced to question the choices she made: career or family, ambition or love—and whether either path could ever have provided everything she wanted.

Set against the glamorous and demanding world of professional ballet, The Turning Point is a compelling and beautifully performed drama about friendship, sacrifice, jealousy, ageing and the choices that define our lives.
