Across 110th Street (1972) is an American action-crime film directed by Barry Shear and starring Yaphet Kotto, Anthony Quinn, Anthony Franciosa, and Paul Benjamin. The film is set in Harlem, New York, and takes its title from the street that served as a racial and economic divide in 1970s New York City. Inspired by both blaxploitation and film noir, the movie follows a heist, murder, and investigation that intersect with the city's organized crime scene. Known for its iconic soundtrack featuring the hit song "Across 110th Street" by Bobby Womack, the film is also notable for its portrayal of race relations and struggles for power within the police force. Lieutenant William Pope and Captain Frank Mattelli must set aside their differences to solve the case and prevent further bloodshed as the Mafia and black organized crime vie for control.
