Journey beyond imagination... to a lost world hidden deep beneath the Earth's surface!
When brilliant Victorian scientist Dr. Abner Perry (Peter Cushing) and adventurous American inventor David Innes (Doug McClure) test their revolutionary underground drilling machine—the mighty Iron Mole—they expect nothing more than a scientific breakthrough. Instead, a catastrophic malfunction sends them hurtling far below the Earth's crust into an incredible hidden world unlike anything they could ever have imagined.
Emerging into the mysterious realm of Pellucidar, they discover a breathtaking prehistoric land where dinosaurs still roam, giant monsters stalk the wilderness, and primitive human tribes struggle to survive beneath an eternal sun. Captured by the savage ape-like Sagoths and enslaved by the terrifying telepathic flying reptiles known as the Mahars, Perry and Innes are thrust into a desperate battle for survival.
When the courageous David falls in love with the beautiful Princess Dia (Caroline Munro), he joins forces with the oppressed tribes to lead a daring rebellion against the Mahar overlords. Armed with courage, ingenuity and the knowledge of modern science, the small band of heroes must overcome deadly prehistoric beasts, gladiatorial combat and impossible odds if they are ever to reclaim their freedom.
