A MAGICAL MUSICAL ADVENTURE FILLED WITH WONDER, ROMANCE AND UNFORGETTABLE SONGS!
Starring the incomparable Danny Kaye, alongside Farley Granger and Zizi Jeanmaire, Hans Christian Andersen is a delightful 1952 Technicolor musical celebrating the imagination of one of the world's greatest storytellers. In a small Danish village, kindly shoemaker Hans Christian Andersen delights local children with his enchanting fairy tales, much to the frustration of the stern schoolmaster. Forced to leave his hometown, Hans travels to Copenhagen, where his extraordinary imagination leads him into the colourful world of the Royal Danish Ballet. There he falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful ballerina Doro, inspiring him to create some of his most beloved stories, including The Little Mermaid and The Ugly Duckling. Filled with spectacular ballet sequences, charming comedy and memorable songs by Frank Loesser, this heartwarming family classic brings the magic of storytelling to life in a glorious celebration of dreams, friendship and imagination.
