Young college student Amanda thinks she has accepted an ordinary babysitting job at a secluded country house. But after her employers leave for the evening, strange noises outside, mysterious knocks at the door and a terrifying face at the window convince her that she is not alone.
Amanda soon discovers the horrifying truth. Brian, her employer Helen’s dangerously disturbed ex-husband, has escaped from psychiatric confinement and returned to the house. Trapped inside with a young child and increasingly isolated from help, Amanda must use every ounce of courage and cunning to survive a night of escalating terror.
Starring Susan George alongside Ian Bannen, Honor Blackman and John Gregson, Fright is a tense and atmospheric British psychological thriller whose isolated-babysitter premise anticipated the stalk-and-terror films that would become a major part of the horror genre later in the decade.
