HUMANS ARE SUCH EASY PREY...
Scientist Dr. Edward Pretorius has created the Resonator, an extraordinary machine capable of stimulating the pineal gland and allowing humans to perceive a dimension existing beyond normal reality.
But when assistant Crawford Tillinghast activates the machine, the experiment opens a doorway to a terrifying world inhabited by hideous creatures. Pretorius disappears into this other dimension, while Crawford is arrested for his apparent murder.
Psychiatrist Dr. Katherine McMichaels becomes convinced that Crawford is telling the truth and returns with him and Detective Bubba Brownlee to Pretorius's laboratory. When the Resonator is switched on again, they discover that Pretorius has returned—but he is no longer entirely human.
As the barrier between dimensions collapses, grotesque creatures invade their world and the Resonator begins transforming everyone exposed to its power. Crawford and Katherine must destroy the machine before Pretorius completes his horrifying transformation and the nightmare from beyond becomes permanent.
Loosely based on the story by H. P. Lovecraft, From Beyond is a spectacular mixture of science fiction and body horror from Stuart Gordon, director of Re-Animator.
