Veteran pilots and longtime friends Jake Lee, Tex Clarke, and "Dizzy" Davis once flew together during World War I. Years later, they are reunited in the demanding and dangerous world of commercial aviation, where bad weather, mechanical failures, and split-second decisions can mean the difference between life and death.

When the reckless but talented Dizzy returns looking for work, his daring flying skills quickly impress everyone around him. However, his carefree attitude and irresponsible behaviour soon lead to tragedy, forcing him to confront the devastating consequences of his actions.
