Years after a baby alligator is flushed into Chicago's sewer system, a series of bizarre disappearances and grisly deaths lead police detective David Madison to uncover an unbelievable truth. Feeding on laboratory animals injected with an experimental growth formula, the reptile has mutated into a gigantic man-eating monster lurking beneath the city streets.

As panic spreads and the body count rises, Madison teams up with reptile expert Marisa Kendall to track the deadly creature before it reaches the surface. But when the beast emerges from the sewers and begins a terrifying rampage through the city, even the police, the media, and professional hunters are powerless to stop it.

Combining suspense, horror, dark humour, and spectacular creature effects, Alligator has become one of the most popular monster movies of the 1980s and a cult classic of the genre.
