Clint Eastwood returns as hard-hitting trucker and bare-knuckle fighter Philo Beddoe in this action-packed sequel to the smash-hit comedy Every Which Way but Loose.

Philo has finally decided that he's had enough of underground fighting and plans to retire from the bare-knuckle circuit. Things are looking up when he reunites with country singer Lynn Halsey-Taylor (Sondra Locke) and the pair rekindle their romance. But a quiet life isn't going to be easy when your best friend is Orville, your housemate is an orangutan named Clyde, and the hopeless Black Widows motorcycle gang is still looking for revenge!

Meanwhile, formidable East Coast fighter Jack Wilson (William Smith) is making a name for himself, and powerful promoters decide that a showdown between Wilson and Philo could become the biggest bare-knuckle fight of all time.

When Philo tries to pull out, the men behind the fight resort to kidnapping Lynn to make certain he turns up. But Wilson isn't prepared to play by their rules, and the two fighters soon discover they have more respect for one another than their ruthless promoters ever expected.

Eventually pride takes over and Philo and Wilson decide to settle the question everyone wants answered – who really is the toughest?
