NURSE ON WHEELS (1963) is a British comedy film directed by Gerald Thomas and starring Juliet Mills, Ronald Lewis, and Joan Sims. Adapted from the novel 'Nurse is my Neighbour' by John Burke (writing under the pseudonym Joanna Jones), this film follows the journey of Nurse Joanna Jones as she passes her driving test (after 106 lessons) and starts her job as a District Nurse. Settling into a cottage with her mother, Joanna faces the challenge of gaining the trust of her patients, who are accustomed to an older nurse like Nurse Merrick. However, with the encouragement of her predecessor, Joanna soon wins over the community and also catches the eye of a wealthy but short-tempered farmer, Henry Edwards. Amidst the chaos of a pregnant woman taking refuge on Edwards' land, Joanna rises to the occasion and wins the hearts of her patients.
