The cult classic that mixed murder, madness and beatnik satire into one unforgettable black comedy!
Legendary filmmaker Roger Corman delivers one of his finest and most inventive productions with this wickedly funny horror satire starring Dick Miller in the role that made him a cult icon.
Walter Paisley is a shy, awkward busboy working at a trendy beatnik coffee house, where poets, artists and intellectuals celebrate the latest in modern art. Desperate for recognition—and hopelessly in love with beautiful waitress Carla—Walter dreams of becoming a respected sculptor. When a bizarre accident leaves his landlady's cat dead, Walter hides the evidence beneath clay, creating what everyone believes is a brilliant work of art.
Overnight, Walter becomes the toast of the Bohemian art world. But as demands for new masterpieces grow, so does Walter's desperation. Soon, accidental killings give way to calculated murder as he discovers the horrifying secret behind creating his increasingly lifelike sculptures. With fame, fortune and insanity spiralling together, Walter's masterpiece may also become his last.
Filmed in just five days on a shoestring budget, A Bucket of Blood remains one of Roger Corman's greatest achievements—a razor-sharp satire of the Beat Generation, modern art and celebrity culture, blending dark comedy with genuine horror in a way that influenced generations of filmmakers.
