FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED (1969) is a British horror film directed by Terence Fisher for Hammer Films, starring Peter Cushing, Freddie Jones, Veronica Carlson and Simon Ward. It is the fifth installment in the Hammer Films series centered around Baron Frankenstein, who terrorizes those around him in his quest for the secrets of a former associate confined to a mental asylum. This film also marked the last release by Warner Bros.-Seven Arts before its acquisition by Kinney National Company. In the story, a doctor is beheaded and an intruder breaks into an underground laboratory. The intruder, later revealed to be Baron Victor Frankenstein, fights with the intruder before unmasking himself. Meanwhile, at a boarding house, the Baron rents a room from landlady Anna Spengler. She is engaged to Dr. Karl Holst, who works at the asylum where the Baron's former assistant, Dr. Frederick Brandt, is confined. When the Baron
