Murder, greed and betrayal turn a peaceful Italian bay into a deadly battleground.

When the wealthy Countess Federica Donati is found dead at her secluded bayside estate, her apparent suicide conceals a far more sinister chain of events. With ownership of the valuable property suddenly at stake, relatives, neighbours and outsiders descend upon the bay—each harbouring secrets and their own reasons for wanting the land.

As competing schemes begin to unravel, the isolated paradise becomes the setting for a succession of increasingly mysterious murders. Before long, nobody can be certain who is the hunter, who is the victim—or who will be left alive to claim the inheritance.

Directed by Italian horror master Mario Bava, A Bay of Blood is a landmark of the giallo genre. Famous for its atmospheric photography, elaborate murder sequences and special effects by Carlo Rambaldi, the film became an important influence on the slasher movies that followed.

Also released under such titles as Twitch of the Death Nerve, Blood Bath, Carnage and Reazione a catena, this remains one of Bava's most celebrated and influential horror films.
