A DAZZLING TECHNICOLOR MUSICAL FILLED WITH ROMANCE, COMEDY AND UNFORGETTABLE COLE PORTER SONGS!
MGM brings Broadway magic to the screen in this spectacular musical romantic comedy starring Kathryn Grayson, Howard Keel and Ann Miller, featuring wonderful songs, dazzling dance routines and hilarious backstage misunderstandings.
Fred Graham (Howard Keel), a theatrical producer and performer, reunites with his fiery ex-wife Lilli Vanessi (Kathryn Grayson) to star in a musical production of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Unfortunately, their offstage relationship proves every bit as tempestuous as the characters they portray.
As rehearsals begin, old romantic feelings, jealous misunderstandings and explosive arguments threaten to bring the entire production crashing down. Matters become even more complicated when the glamorous Lois Lane (Ann Miller), her gambling boyfriend Bill Calhoun (Tommy Rall) and two bumbling gangsters become entangled in the theatrical chaos.
With Fred and Lilli's bitter rivalry spilling onto the stage, the audience witnesses a hilarious battle of the sexes as the performers struggle to keep the show going. But beneath the quarrels and confusion, could true love still be waiting for the feuding former sweethearts?
Featuring Cole Porter classics including "So in Love," "Too Darn Hot," "Wunderbar," "I Hate Men" and "Brush Up Your Shakespeare," Kiss Me Kate is a glorious celebration of Hollywood's golden age of musicals, bursting with colour, laughter, romance and sensational entertainment.
