Ray Peterson is spending a quiet vacation at home when his attention turns to the mysterious Klopek family, the strange new neighbours living just down the street. After suspicious noises, late-night digging and a neighbour suddenly disappearing, Ray and his friends become convinced that something sinister is happening next door.

What follows is an increasingly hilarious campaign of spying, snooping and amateur detective work as the suburban sleuths attempt to discover whether the Klopeks really are hiding a deadly secret—or whether their imaginations have simply run wild.

Directed by Joe Dante, The ’Burbs is a wonderfully offbeat mixture of dark comedy, mystery and suburban horror that has become a much-loved cult favourite.
