FOUR ARMED MEN. EIGHTEEN HOSTAGES. ONE MILLION DOLLARS. ONE HOUR TO PAY!
New York City is plunged into chaos when four heavily armed criminals hijack a subway train and hold eighteen passengers hostage deep beneath the streets of Manhattan.
Led by the ruthless and calculating Mr. Blue, the hijackers demand a ransom of one million dollars, giving the authorities just sixty minutes to deliver the money. For every minute the deadline is missed, an innocent hostage will be executed.
As panic spreads across the city, tough-talking transit police lieutenant Zachary Garber (Walter Matthau) finds himself locked in a deadly battle of wits with the cold-blooded mastermind (Robert Shaw). With the clock ticking, tensions rising and the lives of innocent passengers hanging in the balance, Garber must uncover the criminals' ingenious escape plan before time runs out.
Packed with suspense, sharp dialogue, explosive action and unexpected twists, this gritty 1970s thriller is a classic of American crime cinema, featuring outstanding performances and a memorable musical score.
