Former cat burglar Bernice Rhodenbarr (Whoopi Goldberg) has left her life of crime behind—or so she thought. When a corrupt police detective blackmails her into pulling one last job, a seemingly straightforward burglary turns into a murder investigation with Bernie as the prime suspect.
Determined to clear her name, Bernie teams up with her loyal but eccentric friend Carl (Bobcat Goldthwait) to uncover the real killer. Their search takes them through San Francisco's nightlife, where every new clue leads to another suspect... and another body. As the mystery deepens, Bernie discovers that the victim had far more secrets than anyone imagined.
With the police closing in and danger around every corner, Bernie must rely on her quick wit, sharp instincts, and a little old-fashioned burglary to expose the truth before she becomes the next victim.
Packed with laughs, action, and clever twists, Burglar is an entertaining comedy-thriller directed by Hugh Wilson, featuring the charismatic pairing of Whoopi Goldberg and Bobcat Goldthwait in one of the 1980s' most enjoyable crime capers.
