Released in 1978, I Spit on Your Grave (originally titled Day of the Woman) is a controversial American film that follows Jennifer Hills (played by Camille Keaton), a writer who seeks revenge on her four attackers after being brutally raped and left for dead. The film garnered attention for its graphic depictions of violence, including a 30-minute long gang rape scene. Despite receiving widespread negative reviews, the performance of Keaton was praised and the film has since achieved cult classic status. A remake followed in 2010, along with two sequels and a direct sequel released in 2019. Interestingly, actress Demi Moore confirmed that she is the woman featured on the film's poster. The plot centers on Jennifer, who rents an isolated cottage to write her first novel. She catches the eye of a gas station manager and two unemployed men, who later orchestrate her abduction for their own gain. Jennifer fights back, but is brutally assaulted and left for dead.
