On a rainy Sunday afternoon in Coventry, an ordinary trip to the cinema changes the life of a small-town girl when she spots an advertisement seeking contestants to portray Lady Godiva in the city's annual festival.

After entering—and winning—the local beauty competition, she is swept into the glamorous and unpredictable world of beauty contests, show business and the movies. With ambitions of becoming a star, she soon discovers that fame isn't quite as straightforward as it appears.

A colourful slice of early-1950s British comedy, Lady Godiva Rides Again combines beauty-pageant glamour, romance and show-business satire, while providing fascinating early appearances from a remarkable collection of future stars.
