Caught between two very different men—the charming lawyer François Durnais (Frank Sinatra) and the idealistic young judge Philippe Forrestier (Louis Jourdan)—Simone must choose between love, respectability and remaining true to herself.

Filled with romance, witty comedy, breathtaking dance numbers and unforgettable Cole Porter melodies, the story builds to a spectacular courtroom finale where the famous can-can dance is finally put on trial before the whole of Paris.
