SUSPENSE (1946) is a captivating American film noir centered around ice-skating, directed by Frank Tuttle and written by Philip Yordan. Starring Barry Sullivan and former Olympic skater Belita, with a supporting cast including Albert Dekker, Bonita Granville, and Eugene Pallette (in his final film role), SUSPENSE was Monogram Pictures' "first million-dollar picture." Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, it was a box office success. The film follows Joe Morgan, a drifter who becomes infatuated with Roberta Elva, a performer in an ice show. However, Joe's attraction to Roberta leads to a series of tumultuous events, including a murder and a growing sense of paranoia. With a professional and factual tone, SUSPENSE offers a thrilling and thought-provoking look into the dangerous consequences of obsession.
