A powerful drama inspired by the true story of the MS St. Louis.

In 1939, more than 900 Jewish refugees flee Nazi Germany aboard the luxury liner MS St. Louis, believing they are sailing toward freedom in Cuba. But when permission to land is withdrawn, their voyage becomes a desperate search for sanctuary.

Denied entry to Cuba, the ship turns toward the United States, only for its passengers to face further rejection. With Canada also refusing them refuge and the prospect of returning to Europe growing ever more terrifying, Captain Schroeder struggles to find a way to bring his passengers to safety.

Based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Gordon Thomas and Max Morgan-Witts, Voyage of the Damned is a moving account of courage, prejudice and survival, brought to the screen by director Stuart Rosenberg and an extraordinary international cast.
