Gleaming the Cube, released in 1989, follows 16-year-old skateboarder Brian Kelly (played by Christian Slater) as he investigates the suspicious death of his adopted Vietnamese brother. The film features an all-star team of skateboarders as stunt skaters, including original Z-Boy Stacy Peralta and future skateboarding legends Tony Hawk and Tommy Guerrero. Despite a modest box office turnout, the film gained a cult following through cable replays and the burgeoning home video market. The title of the film references a cryptic question posed in a 1983 magazine interview, and in the film, "gleaming the cube" is defined as "pushing your limits to the edge." However, things take a serious turn when Brian's brother is killed by a group of conspirators involved in illegal weapons smuggling. With the help of his skateboarding crew and a determined detective, Brian sets out to uncover the truth and seek justice for his brother's death. With its blend of action,
