MONTE WALSH is the 2003 Western film directed by Simon Wincer and starring Tom Selleck, Isabella Rossellini, and Keith Carradine. Based on Jack Schaefer's novel, the movie tells the story of Monte Walsh, a cowboy in the waning days of the "Old West" who struggles to adapt to the changing times. His days on the range are filled with camaraderie and competition with fellow cowboys, but the encroaching modernity threatens their way of life. Monte must also navigate his relationships with the women in his life - his longtime love interest, a prostitute named "Countess," and his friend's widow, who captures his heart. As the need for cowboys dwindles, Monte and his friends must find new paths, but their past catches up with them in unexpected ways. With stunning cinematography and a star-studded cast, MONTE WALSH is a must-see classic for fans of the genre.
