Crossroads is a 1986 film that delves into the world of blues music, centering around the legend of Robert Johnson. Directed by Walter Hill and written by John Fusco, the movie stars Ralph Macchio, Joe Seneca, and Jami Gertz, with an original score by Ry Cooder. Fusco's expertly-written screenplay, which won first place at the national FOCUS Awards, was picked up by Columbia Pictures while he was still a student at New York University. The story follows 17-year-old Eugene Martone, a classical guitar student who becomes fascinated with blues music and the enigmatic figure of Robert Johnson. As he digs deeper into Johnson's story, Eugene finds himself on a journey to seek out Johnson's missing song and uncover the truth behind the infamous tale of the musician selling his soul to the Devil at the crossroads.
