Released in 1968, NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY grossed $3.1 million domestically and received praise from critics for its blend of horror and dark humor, particularly Rod Steiger's performance. Lee Remick was also recognized for her supporting role in the BAFTA Awards. The story follows a serial killer named Christopher Gill, fixated on his late mother, who targets older women and uses various disguises to gain their trust before strangling them and leaving a signature lipstick mark. Detective Morris Brummel is hot on Gill's trail, but struggles to identify the elusive killer until a chance encounter at the theatre leads to a final showdown. With a professional and educational tone, the film explores the twisted mind of a serial killer and the psychological battle between the detective and his prey.
