Operation Daybreak, a 1975 war film directed by Lewis Gilbert, tells the true story of Operation Anthropoid, the assassination of SS general Reinhard Heydrich in Prague during World War II. Starring Anthony Andrews, Timothy Bottoms, and Martin Shaw, the film follows the mission of three Czech partisans, trained by the British, as they plot to eliminate Heydrich, who is seen as a potential successor to Hitler. Despite facing obstacles and betrayal, their determination leads to a dramatic ending. Shot on location in Prague and adapted from the book Seven Men at Daybreak by Alan Burgess, this film offers a gripping portrayal of one of the most important operations of the war.
