In contrast to the hit track "Rock Around the Clock" in Haley's previous film, the title track for this one was specifically written for the movie, with co-writer credit going to screenwriter Robert E. Kent. While Haley and his band are the top performers in the movie, the focus is actually on the character of Alan Dale, a rock and roll star who returns to his hometown and faces backlash from adults who have banned the music. Despite opposition from influential columnist Arline MacLaine, Dale still finds time to romance MacLaine's daughter and plan a show to prove the music's innocence. However, a series of events, including a drunken brawl, causes even more controversy. Eventually, a performance showcasing high culture and a raucous rock and roll number open the eyes of the adults and bring about apologies and a newfound appreciation for the genre.

Please note this DVD movie is over 50 years Old and in Black & White, it will not be up to today's high Quality, although the Quality is very good and can be watched on a large screen. Please remember it was made for the older screens though and not digital.
