Rock Around the Clock (1956) is a musical film that features Bill Haley and His Comets, as well as other artists like Alan Freed, the Platters, Tony Martinez and His Band, and Freddie Bell and His Bellboys. It was produced by Sam Katzman, known for B-movies and later for producing several Elvis Presley films, and directed by Fred F. Sears. Shot in a short period of time in January 1956, the film was released in March of that year to capitalize on Haley's popular recording of "Rock Around the Clock" and the rise of rock and roll music. In fact, the same recording can be heard at the opening of both this film and the 1973 classic, American Graffiti, a rare occurrence in film history. The movie follows a fictionalized version of the discovery of rock and roll through the eyes of band manager Steve Hollis. When big band music fails to attract audiences, Hollis discovers a new sound while traveling through.

Please note this DVD movie is over 50 years Old and in Black & White, it will not be up to today's high Quality, although the Quality is very good and can be watched on a large screen. Please remember it was made for the older screens though and not digital.
