Bubby's mother has kept him in isolation for the first 35 years of his life. She feeds him, beats him, has sex with him, and tells him the world outside is full of poisonous gas. When Bubby's father shows up he treats his son with contempt. While his parents are out Bubby trashes the apartment and when they come home drunk he suffocates them with clingfilm. He then ventures into the outside world.
