Cru Jones is a talented young BMX rider with one dream — to compete in Helltrack, the toughest and most spectacular BMX race around. But when the qualifying event clashes with his SATs, Cru must choose between the future his mother wants for him and the chance to prove himself on two wheels.
After earning his place in the competition, Cru discovers that corrupt promoter Duke Best will do almost anything to prevent the unknown local rider from challenging his sponsored champion, Bart Taylor. Faced with constantly changing rules and seemingly impossible obstacles, Cru refuses to give up.
With the support of fellow rider Christian Hollings, his friends, family and eventually the entire town, Cru creates Rad Racing and prepares for the race of his life.
Packed with spectacular BMX riding, freestyle stunts, romance, an unmistakable 1980s soundtrack and the unforgettable Helltrack finale, RAD has grown from an overlooked theatrical release into a much-loved cult favourite among BMX and 1980s movie fans.
