POT O GOLD (1941), directed by George Marshall and starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, is a romantic musical comedy film based on the popular radio series of the same name. It was released on April 3, 1941, eight months before the radio series ended. The film was also known as The Golden Hour in the United Kingdom. When musician Jimmy Haskel moves to the big city, he meets Molly McCorkle and her family who help him succeed in the music industry. However, when Jimmy's true identity is discovered, he must come up with a way to give away $1000 on his radio program without breaking any legal restrictions. His solution becomes a huge success and brings together the feuding Haskels and McCorkles, leading to a happy ending for Jimmy and Molly.
