The Child (also known as Children of the Night and Hide and Go Kill) is a 1977 American supernatural horror film directed by Robert Voskanian. Set in the 1930s, the movie follows a young woman who becomes a nanny at a decaying, isolated manor and encounters bizarre occurrences. When Alicianne Del Mar takes the job, she is confident in her knowledge of the surrounding area since she grew up there. However, she is met with a mutilated cat in the woods and a clawed hand in a tree. As she reaches the Nordon estate, she stumbles upon an abandoned cemetery and sees a pale figure hiding amongst the bushes. This is just the beginning of the terrifying events that unfold, including attacks on Mrs. Whitfield, an elderly neighbor, and Rosalie, a young girl with telekinetic powers. As Halloween approaches, Alicianne witnesses a jack o' lantern moving on its own and Rosalie confronts her mother's killer.
