THE LEMON DROP KID (1951) Bob Hope ,Marilyn Maxwell ,Lloyd Nola. - Public Domain Movie Disc only Free Post - In Black & White

Sidney Milburn, known as the “Lemon Drop Kid,” is a small-time New York conman whose latest scam lands him in serious trouble with a dangerous gangster. After misleading a bettor tied to the criminal Moose Moran, the Kid is forced to come up with $10,000 by Christmas Eve or face the consequences.

Back in New York, he turns his attention to a series of increasingly risky schemes involving Santa Claus, street collections, and charity fundraising. What begins as a quick way to raise money soon escalates when he converts an abandoned building into a makeshift home for elderly women, while secretly intending to use the funds to settle his debt.

As his operation grows, so does the attention of rival crime boss Oxford Charlie, who seizes the opportunity for his own gain and takes control of the situation—along with hostages. Betrayals mount, loyalties are tested, and the Kid finds himself caught between criminals, the police, and the very people he was trying to help.

With Christmas Eve approaching, the Kid must outwit both gangs and pull off one final gamble to save the day, rescue those caught in the crossfire, and face the consequences of his own schemes.

A fast-paced Damon Runyon-style comedy caper blending conmen, chaos, and Christmas spirit.
