Young Veronica is an orphan raised on sinister stories of witches and black magic. When shy, wealthy Flavia arrives at her school, Veronica claims that she herself is a witch and gradually convinces the frightened girl that she possesses supernatural powers.
After a disturbing coincidence appears to prove Veronica's claims, she begins manipulating Flavia through fear, demanding possessions and unquestioning obedience. During a family trip to a remote country ranch, Veronica announces her most sinister plan yet — to create a deadly “poison for the fairies,” the supposed natural enemies of witches.
As Veronica's psychological hold becomes increasingly terrifying, Flavia is driven towards a desperate and shocking act that will end their dangerous game forever.
