A Touch of Class is a 1973 romantic comedy film that revolves around the story of a couple having an affair, who unexpectedly fall in love. It was produced and directed by Melvin Frank and stars George Segal, Glenda Jackson, Hildegard Neil, Paul Sorvino, and K Callan. The film received five Academy Awards nominations, including Best Picture, and won Best Actress for Jackson's performance. The story is adapted from Frank's own story, "She Loves Me, She Told Me So Last Night", and bears a striking resemblance to one of his earlier films, The Facts of Life (1960). Originally, the lead role was offered to Cary Grant, who turned it down, ultimately allowing Jackson to shine in her Oscar-winning performance. The film's production was also connected to Grant through Fabergé's Brut Productions, as he was on the board of directors for the company.
