A Different Story is a warm, witty and unconventional romantic comedy-drama that challenges expectations at every turn.
Albert, a charming Belgian immigrant living in Los Angeles, suddenly finds himself homeless after being abandoned by his wealthy lover. Stella, an independent real estate agent, reluctantly offers him a place to stay. What begins as a temporary arrangement soon develops into an unlikely friendship as the pair discover they enjoy each other's company far more than they ever imagined.
There is just one complication—Albert is gay, Stella is a lesbian, and neither expects their relationship to become anything more than friendship. But life has a habit of rewriting the rules. After a marriage of convenience to prevent Albert's deportation, their emotional bond deepens into an unexpected romance that changes both of their lives forever.
As they build a family together, old relationships, jealousy and difficult choices threaten the happiness they have found. Can love survive when it arrives in the most unexpected way?
