Something Wild, a 1986 comedy thriller, was directed by industry expert Jonathan Demme and written by E. Max Frye. Starring Melanie Griffith, Jeff Daniels, and Ray Liotta, this film tells the story of conventional yuppie investment banker Charlie Driggs, who is taken on a wild ride by a woman named Lulu. With elements of a road movie and screwball comedy, this film was screened at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival. As their journey progresses, Charlie falls in love with Lulu and discovers her true identity as Audrey, a demure blonde who is on the run from her violent ex-husband. Despite Ray's attempts to separate them, Charlie and Audrey prevail and are reunited in a stylish and romantic ending.
