3 WOMEN (1977) is an American psychological drama film written, produced, and directed by renowned filmmaker Robert Altman. The film stars Shelley Duvall, Sissy Spacek, and Janice Rule and tells the story of the complex relationship between three very different women in a small California desert town. It received critical acclaim for its use of psychoanalysis and exploration of identity, as well as praise for the performances of the talented cast. Although it did not achieve great box office success, it was later released on home video by The Criterion Collection in 2004.
