The TV series The Scarecrow and Mrs. King ran on CBS from October 3, 1983 to May 28, 1987, with music by Arthur B. Rubinstein. Starring Kate Jackson and Bruce Boxleitner as divorced housewife Amanda King and top-level "Agency" operative Lee Stetson, the show follows their unique partnership and eventual romance after meeting in a train station. Amanda is a divorced mother living with her mother and sons when she unexpectedly receives a package from Lee, who is being chased. Despite being unable to complete his task, she becomes involved in his mission and ultimately learns about the Agency and joins them secretly. With the help of her boss Billy Melrose and fellow agent Francine Desmond, she trains to become an agent and works with Lee on various assignments, including posing as a married couple and traveling to different countries.
