The Silent Partner is a 1978 Canadian thriller film directed by Daryl Duke and starring Elliott Gould, Christopher Plummer, and Susannah York. Adapted from the novel Think of a Number by Danish writer Anders Bodelsen, the film follows Miles Cullen (Gould), a bank teller in Toronto who discovers a note revealing an impending robbery. Suspecting the mall Santa, Harry Reikle (Plummer), Miles secretly hides $48,300 from his transactions, but when Reikle realizes he's been shorted, he begins to stalk and threaten Miles. The film, praised for its intelligent storytelling and skilled direction, also won three Canadian Film Awards, including Best Feature Film and Best Direction.
