Published in 1963, The Prize is an American spy film and comedic romance featuring renowned actors such as Paul Newman, Elke Sommer, and Edward G. Robinson. Based on Irving Wallace's novel, the film was directed by Mark Robson and produced by Pandro S. Berman, with a screenplay adaptation by Ernest Lehman. Notable composer Jerry Goldsmith also contributed to the film with an early score. The story revolves around Andrew Craig, who has just won the Nobel Prize in Literature. However, he seems more interested in women and drinking than the prestigious award. Upon arriving in Stockholm for the ceremony, he is assigned a beautiful personal chaperone, Inger Lisa Andersson. As he mingles with other laureates, Andrew becomes involved in a dangerous plot involving an imposter spy, kidnapping, and murder. With the help of Inger and other Nobel winners, Andrew must navigate through treacherous obstacles to uncover the truth before it's too late.
