LIGHNING STRIKES TWICE (1951) is a crime melodrama produced by Warner Bros, starring Ruth Roman and Richard Todd, with direction by King Vidor. According to Todd, the film received moderate reviews and business. He claims to have a singing scene that was cut due to his own poor performance. The plot follows wealthy rancher Richard Trevelyan (Todd), who is released from prison on a hung jury verdict and meets actress Shelley Carnes (Roman) on her way to a Texas dude ranch. There, she learns about Trevelyan's past and the truth behind his wife's murder. As they navigate through the drama, they uncover lies and secrets from those involved in the case. In the end, justice prevails and the couple head off into their honeymoon together.
