THE MOST DANGEROUS FILM EVER MADE! AN EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURE WHERE THE ANIMALS WERE REAL — AND SO WAS THE DANGER!

Starring Tippi Hedren, Noel Marshall, Melanie Griffith, John Marshall and Jerry Marshall, Roar is an extraordinary 1981 adventure comedy that combines breathtaking wildlife encounters, outrageous situations, terrifying suspense and astonishing real-life danger. Written and directed by Noel Marshall, this remarkable cult classic follows the adventures of Hank, an American naturalist living on a remote African wildlife preserve surrounded by dozens of freely roaming lions, tigers, leopards and other exotic animals. Devoted to protecting and studying his beloved big cats, Hank has created an extraordinary sanctuary where humans and wild animals live together in an uneasy and often unpredictable harmony. When his wife Madeleine and their children Melanie, John and Jerry arrive in Africa to visit him, they have absolutely no idea what awaits them. Unfortunately, Hank is delayed while dealing with officials who threaten the future of his wildlife sanctuary, leaving his unsuspecting family to make their own way to his isolated home. Arriving at the seemingly deserted property, they are horrified to discover that the house is occupied by an enormous collection of wild lions, tigers and other dangerous creatures. What should have been a peaceful family reunion rapidly becomes a terrifying and frequently hilarious struggle for survival as the frightened visitors attempt to escape from the animals roaming freely through bedrooms, corridors and gardens. With enormous lions leaping through windows, tigers prowling around the house, elephants causing spectacular destruction and rival big cats fighting for dominance, the family finds itself trapped in an increasingly chaotic nightmare. Meanwhile, Hank desperately races home, unaware of the terrifying ordeal unfolding at his sanctuary. As the family struggles to understand the unpredictable behaviour of the animals, an even greater threat emerges when hostile officials decide that the dangerous creatures must be destroyed. Featuring extraordinary close encounters between the cast and genuinely untamed animals, Roar delivers a unique combination of adventure, comedy, suspense and breathtaking wildlife spectacle. Famously taking 11 years to complete, the production became legendary for its extraordinary difficulties, with numerous cast and crew members suffering injuries during filming, including its leading stars. Unlike conventional animal adventure films, the remarkable encounters seen on screen were filmed with real big cats, creating moments of genuine danger and astonishing unpredictability. A truly unforgettable cult classic, Roar is one of the most unusual, ambitious and dangerous motion pictures ever produced — a wild cinematic experience that has to be seen to be believed!
