During the Pacific campaign in 1942, American naval officer Lieutenant Sam Lawson is assigned to a British commando unit on a perilous mission behind enemy lines. Their objective is simple—destroy a vital Japanese communications post before it can reveal the approach of a massive Allied naval convoy. But when the mission begins to unravel through poor leadership, mounting casualties and relentless enemy pursuit, Lawson is forced to confront the dangers he has spent his career avoiding.
