Set amid the windswept coast of eighteenth-century Dorset, Moonfleet is a lavish CinemaScope adventure directed by legendary filmmaker Fritz Lang.
Young orphan John Mohune (Jon Whiteley) arrives in the mysterious village of Moonfleet seeking Jeremy Fox (Stewart Granger), the sophisticated but morally ambiguous gentleman who once loved John's mother. John soon discovers that Fox leads a dangerous double life and has close connections with the smugglers who operate along the treacherous coastline.
When clues emerge concerning a fabulous diamond hidden years before, John and Fox are drawn into a perilous hunt involving secret passages, coded messages, ruthless criminals and the authorities determined to capture them. Their search becomes an adventure in which loyalty, greed and survival are put to the ultimate test.
Featuring spectacular period settings, gothic atmosphere and sweeping adventure, Moonfleet remains one of Fritz Lang's most visually distinctive Hollywood productions.
