TWO THOUSAND MANIACS (1964)(18) is a horror film directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis and starring Connie Mason, a 1963 Playboy Playmate. It tells the story of a group of Northern tourists who are invited to a Confederate celebration in a small Southern town. As they are warmly welcomed by the townspeople, they soon realize that they are the intended victims of a revenge plot for a massacre that occurred 100 years ago. The film has been recognized for its depiction of regional differences between the North and South. It was later remade in 2005 as 2001 Maniacs and was inspired by the musical Brigadoon. The film follows the events of six tourists who are lured into the town by two locals, Rufus and Lester, and are promised complimentary accommodations and entertainment. However, the tourists quickly become suspicious when they discover a plaque stating the history of the town and realize the true intentions of their hosts. As they try to
