Professor Henry Jarrod is a gifted sculptor whose extraordinary wax museum is devoted to recreating history with astonishing realism. But when his ruthless business partner deliberately burns the museum to collect the insurance money, Jarrod is trapped inside the inferno and apparently left to die.

Some time later, Jarrod mysteriously reappears—scarred by the tragedy and confined to a wheelchair. With the backing of a wealthy investor, he opens a spectacular new museum featuring a gruesome Chamber of Horrors, filled with remarkably lifelike figures depicting murder, execution and death.

But a series of mysterious killings begins to plague the city, and young Sue Allen becomes suspicious when the museum's beautiful Joan of Arc bears an uncanny resemblance to her recently murdered friend. As Sue investigates, she discovers that Jarrod's wax creations may be hiding a horrifying secret.

Soon she finds herself trapped inside the museum, where the terrifying truth behind Jarrod's masterpieces is finally revealed...
