CLARENCE THE CROSS-EYED LION (1965) Starring - Marshall Thompson, Betsy Drake, Richard Haydn & Cheryl Miller - DVD NO CASE - IN COLOUR
Deep in the heart of Africa, veterinarian Dr. Marsh Tracey runs an animal hospital and wildlife preserve dedicated to protecting and caring for the creatures of the African wilderness. Alongside him is his adventurous daughter Paula, who shares her father’s love of animals and his determination to protect them.
Their lives take an unusual turn when they encounter Clarence, a magnificent but hopelessly cross-eyed lion. Unable to hunt properly because of his poor eyesight, Clarence is taken into the preserve and quickly becomes an unforgettable member of the Tracey family.
But Clarence is far more than an unusual pet. When Julie Harper and her research gorillas find themselves threatened by dangerous poachers, the unlikely four-legged hero proves that courage and loyalty matter far more than perfect eyesight!
Packed with African wildlife, adventure, humour and family entertainment, Clarence, the Cross-Eyed Lion is a warm-hearted 1965 comedy-adventure from producer Ivan Tors, the creator of Flipper. The film later provided the inspiration for the popular television series Daktari.
